Overview
KROHNE metering systems are used throughout the entire energy value chain, from production, through ship (un)loading and pipeline transport, to industrial consumers or underground storage locations. KROHNE takes full project responsibility for the system, including metering skids, analysers, and flow computers integrated into the metering control cabinet, with all supervisory and validation software.
As a result of the production process and foreseen application, hydrogen as a fuel gas comes with different properties and requirements. Depending on the production method, the hydrogen may contain impurities such as H2O, O2, CO2, CO or CH4. Subject to the application, KROHNE will design and manufacture metering solutions to suite these requirements. This implies mechanical and electrical design considerations, but also dedicated impurity analysers and CT flow computations certified for hydrogen. KROHNE metering systems are often designed as a master-duty configuration, where a Z-cross over allows periodical verification of the duty meters against the master meter. In addition, diagnostic features of the flowmeters are used to guarantee maximum performance and lowest measurement uncertainty.
